The inspiration started with a familiar object: the CASIO A168. Its shape, display and metallic finish have remained recognizable for decades. Rather than redesigning the watch, we wanted to explore how much its character could shift through visual direction alone.
Challenge
Creating something new around an icon without losing what makes it familiar. The watch needed to remain unchanged and recognizable while moving through different visual worlds.
Solution
A visual system built from color, geometry, transparency, repetition and movement. Each scene explores a different side of the A168—from precise and functional to playful and unexpected—showing that an icon can feel new without becoming something else.
