EVERYTHING
about.
My obsession with high-precision watches isn't about status; it’s about the invisible engineering. From complex chronographs to perpetual calendars, the more complicated the feature, the more I feel challenged to understand the mechanics. Seriously, I’ve lost hours watching timepieces being assembled—it's addictive!
And that brings us to this personal project: The Rolex Submariner.
history.
When the Submariner launched in 1953, the idea of a watch that could genuinely handle 100 meters of depth and remain legible was revolutionary. It wasn't an accessory; it was a vital tool born from function.
Today, the Submariner is much more than a tool, it's an icon. So, my challenge was: How do you portrait an icon in 3D?
This video is nothing more than a tribute to this extraordinary piece of engineering, conceptualized and executed by the Rolex team in 1953, under the leadership of Hans Wilsdorf and René-Paul Jeanneret.
conclusion.
The Rolex Submariner is the perfect example of how Design and Purpose must walk side-by-side.
Fun Fact for the Engineers: Jacques Cousteau reportedly served almost as a consultant during the piece's initial creation, proving its origin was purely functional.
